§ 01about

Hi, I am Moises and I grew up around an operating room. Not because I was sick but because I was following my dad who worked in hospitals. Thanks to him I learnt everything about implants, prosthetics and how to operate on broken bones before I turned 10 years old. Yet I resented the healthcare system for how inefficient, outdated and borderline dangerous it was.

Now, I am solving the issues I experienced growing up as the CEO and Founder of CLARO Surgical.

Before obsessing about improving the Operating Room, I dropped out of a PhD in theoretical Physics, designed a Dark Matter detector at CERN and worked on autonomous navigation in China before the topic of Self Driving cars became mainstream.

I currently take 60 flights a year on average and when I am not visiting a surgeon in a hospital or working with my team you can find me at the cinema watching a movie on my own or at the theatre along with my better half. I find peace in the arts, wether it's on top of a stage, on a canvas or on a fine glass of Ribera del Duero.

§ 05speaking

Through my life I have done hundreds of magic shows, performances and talks worldwide, and while i no longer do magic I still show up when I am called to share what I have learnt.

Be it keynote appearances for 10 to 20 minutes or on corporate and sales conventions doing one of my more motivational talks "From the College Dorm to the Operating Room".

I've been invited to deliver lectures at Universities as a guest lecturer talking about body language, public speaking and pitching your startup like an artist.

And surprisingly a longer list of events more random than I originally thought i would do...

§ 06hobbies

I enjoy watching movies, the theatre, good wine, snowboarding, tennis, football, concerts, art galleries and a few other things.

movies

I've watched more films than I can count but these are 4 close to my chest:

I have watched this movie more than 30 times, often 3 times in a row.
Always a classic, a definition of what good comedy is.
Not necessarily my favourite zombie movie but the one movie I've watched the most with my dad, especially before I left the nest as a teenager. "El Movimiento es Vida."
Another classic I grew up watching. Strong movie but brings some legendary actors showing the importance of having something to fight for. Even if it is something as simple as a sport. Football has that special super power. That feeling of belonging, of hope even in the toughest of times.
theatre

I feel very lucky to have been on top of a stage hundreds of times, as an actor and as a magician. Watching others live is one of my biggest joys. I try to go often and sometimes write my thoughts here: astandingovation.com

wine

I have started to reduce my alcohol intake to just very occasionally but a good glass of wine is something I will always look forward to. Some of my fondest memories around a table have been shared with a glass of:
